Dubai Police respond to 90% emergencies in under 12 minutes
Al Marri said that the service has achieved positive results due to the cooperation of the members of the society.
Dubai security patrols responded to 90 per cent of emergency incidents within 11 minutes and 37 seconds on an average during the second quarter of this year. In non-emergency cases, it attended to 90 per cent of the incidents in 14 minutes and 48 seconds.
Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, has lauded the performance of the General Department of Operations Room of the Dubai Police for meeting the target of reaching 90 per cent of emergency cases within 15 minutes.
He also praised the Smart Accident Reporting Service, which allows the public to take pictures of minor accidents and get the report in order to assess the damage in cars, without any need of the police to reach the accident site.
Al Marri said that the service has achieved positive results due to the cooperation of the members of the society. He praised their contribution in reducing congestion on the roads by going directly to the nearest police station in Dubai to get report on these minor incidents.
He also commended the outstanding results achieved by the operations room in implementing the development plans and operational programmes, while simplifying procedures to facilitate people.
According to statistics, the police emergency call number (999) received 808,199 phone calls in the second quarter of this year, compared to 665,252 calls during the same period last year. The number (901) received 60,036 calls in Q2 of 2017, compared to 46,470 calls during the same period in 2016.
