His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is the owner of Meraas. It was established as a private holding company in 2007. In 2020, it became a subsidiary of Dubai Holding under instruction from its owner. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum remains the Meraas Group Chairman.
Developed as a joint venture by Emaar Properties and Meraas Properties in Dubai, Dubai Hills Estate leads the way as one of the largest master-planned communities in the city. Meraas Jumeirah Beach La Mer is also one of the largest and the Bluewaters Residences continues to grow as new units are added. Meraas projects in Dubai cover more than 700 hectares of residential and commercial properties and include eight hotels and 11 entertainment centres.
Many of Meraas’ projects in Dubai are available off plan, including Central Park at City Walk, Cherrywoods in Dubailand, and La Cote in Port de La Mer. Dubai Marina Meraas developments are also available off plan and include residential and commercial options. Units on Bluewaters Island can be purchased off plan too.
